We, the hotel - Villa am Park would like to invite you to a trip to our
quiet spa.
Our place offers you next to our absolute flagship - the Bad Zwischenahner Meer -
a variety of attractive opportunities to experience a few days to relax and / or discover
.
We would like to use our platform to bring you a little closer to the possibilities that our place opens up to you in
the coming weeks.
Today we would like to start with the "Water Tower - Bad Zwischenahner Meer" which was designed between
1937 and 1938 by the architect Fritz Höger and was put into operation
on 01 June 1938.
The elevated tank of the 35-meter-high tower holds 210m3 of water and stands on reinforced concrete supports. In den unteren Stockwerken des Turmes wurden Büroräume eingebaut. Between 1950 and 1971, the two lower floors housed the tourist office of the spa administration, later the association "Bad Zwischenahner Woche" was housed there. At times, the tower also housed the so-called "Ostdeutsche Heimatstube".
Today the tower is used as an observation tower. The observation deck can be reached on foot via 180 steps.
In 2009, it was decided to illuminate the tower from the north and south directions.
Unfortunately, the visit of our water tower is currently not possible due to renovation work. However, we hope that after the renovation this historical work can again serve as a viewing platform for our guests.
